Lynda's Story
Hi ~ I'm Lynda(Ramalho)Ereshan.
How do you sum up 33 years in one paragraph?
I think I'll try bullet points. If there is anything confusing (and there will be!), feel free to ask what's up.
- I started my family right out of high school - accelerated my graduation and married the summer of '74 - then tried for 9 months to get pregnant and finally did - I have raised 7 children who are now age 33 down to age 14 - I have worked for Patagonia Clothing for 23 and a half years (since Aug 1985) doing several jobs, currently I am the Sr. Color Specialist and I work with the design group to dye up each season's color palette and make sure all colors remain consistent in all products - Before this I was a Product Mgr, and had to travel to factories to check on production...Hong Kong, China, Japan...
- in 1993 I met my husband, Mark - I was a single mother of 5 and he was a single father of one 3 year old - we had a son together (5+1+1=7 ;>) you can see a few of our family pics in the photo section
- I was a member of the NSA (National Speakers Assoc.)for 2 years, President of the Ventura Sunrise Toastmasters Club for 1 yea...Expand for more
r, and we lived on our sailboat for over 4 years (just moved off a year ago)
- I changed my name to Ereshan in 1988 (it was time for a change, and it is meaningful to me)
- I attended Ventura College over the years, but have not yet graduated. (I can't imagine why, with all that spare time I had!) I'm close, tho, and still taking classes. Now that we only have one child who is not an adult, it feels like my life is starting over - and it is! On March 17 I will be 2 years old in the 2nd half of my life (since I'm planning to live to at least 100!)
- My oldest child just received her Masters Degree in Education, and my 4th (son - Taylen) graduated from Berkeley in 2006. two others...the 3rd and 6th...are currently in college.
- I regularly play beach volleyball (more in the warmer months) and I walk to the cross above downtown Ventura at least one lunch hour a week. We like to river raft, ride Harley's and dirtbikes, and sail out to the islands on our sailboat. Ventura is still a beautiful place even though it's getting too crowded...there are places nearby to get away and have fun.
- Life is such a great adventure!
