Lynette's Story

Workplace I started out as a junior high home economics teacher in Oregon, for four years. I then moved up to the high school level where I taught and was a counselor for 8 years. I then accepted a position in Governor Goldschmidt's program, "The Children's Agenda", where I counseled students K-10th who were at-risk. After the grant for this program closed, I became an elementary school counselor in eastern Oregon. In 1990 I moved to Medford, Oregon, where I was an elementary counselor for two more years. years with young children, I returned to high school level students and counseled for another 11 years. After 31 years, I retired from public education and moved to Nampa, Idaho. I did volunteer work and worked at my undergrad Alma mater, NNC. For the final 10 years of my work life, I was the Director of Learning Support & Disability Services at my graduate school Alma mater, The College of Idaho. After my final retirement, I moved to Vancouver, WA. Life is filled with gardening, sewing, reading and fun with my 2 grands.
