Lynette's Story
Here is my story in a nutshell. After high school I worked at Motorola for about 6 years. I then took time off to have my two children, a boy and a girl. The youngest, the boy, was disabled so I didn't go back to work for quite a few years because of my sons extensive therapies. It was very hard trying to raise them on my own and not working. But don't get me wrong, they are worth everything to me. By the time my kids were in first and second grades, I had met and married my husband, the only man my kids knew as dad. We all moved from Mesa to Gilbert soon after the marriage. The neighborhood I had grown up in was no longer the same one. There were gunshots almost every night and helicopters flying around looking for people that were "on the run". I wasn't about to let my kids grow up in that environment if at all possible. My son got better with age and by the time we moved to Gilbert I was able to go back to work. I worked at a company called LSI for two years. It's along the lines of semiconductor work. Their work slowed to a standing halt and so I had to go looking for work again and landed a job at Microchip. My husband worked at a little family owned (not his) business doing metal spray. He was into movies, fishing, camping and turtles. Physically my son had gotten better, but not emotionally and he needed a lot of help in school with his classes. But by the time he turned 10 he had a massive seizure and has had seizures since but they aren't very bad now.Thank God! My daughter writes stories and poems, draws, plays the clarinet since elementary school, strums the drums and picked up a guitar at 1...Expand for more
3 and hasn't hardly put it down since. She has been in two bands(not in one now). If she can't be a rock star herself, I think she would either like to be one of those people who put the songs together perfectly for the bands on CD's for them or an English teacher. :) .....After a year of working at Microchip I became very ill and immediately had to stop working. I came down with a severe case of Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Rhuematoid Arthritis, Migraines and the list just goes on and on. Our lives were turned upside down and inside out. I was the one that did most things for our family and was keeping it together, so I thought. So after I became disabled our lives went into a shamble. I didn't realize that my husband became very depressed. He didn't show it like most people would. A year and a half into my illness my husband suddenly passed away in front of me and my son. My son was 12. But for his condition, he might as well have been 8 or 9. My husband was 39. I thought being in severe pain, being so tired and not hardly being able to do anything anymore, was the worst thing that could happen to me. Then I watched my husband die, and the look on my son's face...the only thing that could be worse is if one of my children were to die before me.
In the story wizard it asks where my inspiration comes from? It comes from God. My Heavenly Father means everything to me. I literally would not be here right now if it were not for him. There is a story to that but I won't get into it right now. But God keeps my head up through all my trials and is with me through the good times too.
God bless,
Lynette
