Lynn's Story
While working for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) I attended college via night school and finally graduated after 13 years. I continued to work at FAA for a total of 20 years and In 1992, I retired. Shortly after retiring, my family moved to Hoffman Estates IL and I became a lunch mom/supervisor working at my daughters elementary school for 7 years. Surprisingly, it turned out to be more enjoyable than I thought and I also felt as though I had a chance to know my daughters better. for 9 years. Caregiving is not for the light hearted....it's hard work but I wouldn't have given it up as I really enjoyed spending time with my mother in her final years. Today, I work part time for the second largest public library in the state of Illinois and it is my retirement job. Both of my daughters are grown, married and our daughters have blessed my husband, Rich, and I with 3 grandsons ....and another one on the way.. We're having so much fun with them. Life is funny isn't it? This was not where I saw my future going back in high school but overall, I've led a blessed life and have no regrets. Best wishes go out to anyone who reads my story, and I hope you're having a great life too!
