Lynn's Story
Winter is in full force. Had a dusting of snow overnight. This is our third snow of the season, the first one bring us 4 inches of the white stuff. This is also the first winter in five years we've had snow. It is very cold to boot. Still, the work continues. Livestock must be fed and cared for. Saw mill business continues throughout the winter. work on quilts, now into making small rugs as well. It's what keeps me sane I think. We are now planning our veggie garden for the spring, and getting all the canning supplies and equipment in order. Meat cows, milk cow, and possibly a couple of pigs are also being considered. Yes, we do our own butchering. If one is going to live a farm life, one must get into it full force - are as full force as one can get. Wish we had started this whole farming thing two decades ago rather than 6 1/2 years ago. COVID-19 has hit our county hard. Fortunately for us, we have remained healthy and virus free. We don't leave very often. And, in my circle of a few friends, all have been well, too. May anyone who visits my profile be happy, healthy, and safe during this year. Take care.
