FAMILY
UPDATE: My son David is a Senior at KHS (class of 2008) and enjoys playing basketball & football. He also races a dragster & roadster at various NHRA race tracks!!! He absolutely loves racing (just like his father!!!) He has always attended a private school until the 6th grade when he started at Kemp. He decided he wanted to attend public school because it has more GIRLS!!!
My husband Jackie owns J & J Mechanic in Tool and he drag races as a FULL TIME hobby!!! In 2005 he won the National Hot Rod Association World Championship in bracket racing, he won a divisional race at Texas Motorplex in Ennis which qualified him for an expense paid trip to Pomona, CA to race for the National Championship WHICH HE WON!!! What a fun year.
Myself, well I enjoy watching my guys race more than anything else. We spend from March to Oct. each year at the drag strip, so beside work, that is our life. I do enjoy spending time shopping with my mom. Both my parents are doing well and have truly enjoyed all their grandchildren and great-grandchildren so much. They are the best grandparents. Just ask my son David, any time he would forget something at school all he had to do was call them and they came running, and it's the same with all of the kids!
My oldest brother Danny passed away Oct. 2002, it's been really hard on my parents but we're a very close family so that helps so much. All my other brothers (Johnnie, Billy & Les) all live in Kemp also!!! Johnnie's wife Pam has been very sick with cancer for about 3 years now, she continues treatments daily and we continue our prayers for her, for her last trip she has been in the hospi...Expand for more
tal for about 2 1/2 months now, she also had a stroke just before one of her 3 brain surgeries. Johnnie is hanging in there but it is beginning to take a tole on his body as well, they have 3 children and 7 grandchildren. UDPATE: Pam lost her battle with cancer March 1, 2006. Johnnie and the kids are doing well. UPDATE: Billy has finally found his soulmate (imagine that after all these years), he married Rolanda (her mom owns the Western Cafe in Kemp), I have honestly never seen him so happy. He has 5 kids and 6 grandkids. Les was like me, he started late with kids, he has a beautiful 5 year old daughter. We call her our angel child as Les & Rhonda had tried for many years to conceive and they were finally able to adopt our beautiful Victoria (Tori).
My Job
I finally left Bank One April of 2005 when a friend made me an offer I couldn't refuse working for his "speciality advertising company", I'm the office manager and also do sales. It's pretty stressful (unlike my 30 years job at Bank One which was a piece of cake) most ALL the time but it actually a FUN job and very rewarding, at the end of the day you actually feel like you've accomplished something, I truly enjoy work!!!
AGE
Well, I will turn 50 this December (2006), it just doesn't seem real, I can't be that old....
BUILDING A NEW HOUSE
Now that can be extremely stressful on a marriage... every purchase my husband makes is a WISE one, but I must go out and get bids and do research on all my purchases... It seems his are wise because he is using customers of his to do the job... Anyway, we have managed to survive this too and will move into the new home March 2008.
