Lynne's Story

I was fortunate enough to know some of the sweetest folks at V.F. Kathy Niedoba, Sharon Chester, Clare Koch, Margaret Craig, Kathy Hudio, Sally Sikorki, Tim Hatch, Woody Haase. Larry Buchanan, Damon Dunn and so many others. I remember being a booster at every football game, selling popcorn and soda at the wrestling matches, going to picnics, parties and group tobogganing trips. After getting my R.N. degree, I worked in Medical/Surgical ICU and Open Heart Nurse for several years and met a Surgical Resident . Al Kumar and I were married July 9, 1977. We have been married 35 years and have a 32 year old son Andrew who finished his Masters last December and a 31 year old daughter Pamela who is an Occupaional Therapist, is married and living in St. Louis. Since marriage, we have lived in Denver,St. Louis, Washington D.C. and finally, back to Denver, Colorado. While raising the children, I did what most parents do-non-stop volunteering at their schools, at church, swim team, baseball, gymnastics, tae kwon do, girl and boy scouts, dance, flute lessons, guitar lessons and even roller hockey. It went by in a flash-but you already know that-ha! I went back to school thinking I wanted a masters in Nursing only to discover what I really loved doing was renovating 100 yea...Expand for more
r old houses in Old Town Ft. Collins Colorado. I am managing my first rental property and loving it. We have 4 graduate students from C.S.U. living there now. I am thinking about starting another one this year. Our family passion is travel. We have been blessed to have travelled all over the world. Taking pictures of all the people, places and natural beauty has been a great joy. Travel really does make you a better person. We have met the most wonderful and fascinating people everywhere we have gone. We just got back from an anniversary trip to Paris-we had a blast. I am not very computer savvy, but was so exited to find this site. Hopefully, I can become a student once again and learn all about this new way of staying connected. Honestly, I love writing letters and receiving letters albeit old fashioned-it is warm and personal. That's my short story . Maybe I'll see some of you at the reunion in September. Have a great Summer! If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have inspiration, good mentors, and room to grow to be able to deal with the day-to-day. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Sharon Chester, because it has been too long.. to let go. to just love them. to really live in the moment. that they are truly gifts from God.
