Lynne's Story

Life I'm living in Athens, Ga., teaching at the University of Georgia, about an hour (or so) northeast of Atlanta -- if you're near, DO drop by! It's a lovely college town. I have been spending summers in Jensen Beach/Stuart, Florida. I'm single (and would welcome a nice man in my life), am extremely proud of my son, Ken Sallot, 34, who lives in Gainesville, FL, with my dear daughter-in-law, Sandra Durham. Life is good. School After high school, graduated from Kent State in journalism in December 1970. Started teaching as an adjunct at the University of Miami (FL) in 1987. Returned to school in 1988, received M.A. in communication studies at UMiami in 1990; Ph.D. in mass c...Expand for more
ommunication at UFlorida in 1993. College See "school" biography! I teach in a professional college and view my academic degrees as professional credentials. Workplace I love teaching; have published enough "academic stuff" to get tenure/promoted. Am looking forward to more time off (retirement) to pursue creative intersts. I worked as a print journalist/editor/freelance writer in Toronto '71-'76 and Florida '76-'77. Moved to Florida in '76. Published a novel in '78. Worked in travel/tourism PR '77-'92 including for the Cayman Islands, Inter-Continental Hotels, Paradise Island, Eastern Airlines (God rest its soul). Started teaching college PR in '87; at UGeorgia '93-now!
