Life After PHS, I graduated with a degree in court reporting from SIU. I met my husband Dave at Willow Creek Community Church, which we have been attending for 25 years. I worked as a freelance court reporter for 10 years, focusing primarily on medical malpractice cases. During this time, with the intent to diversify, my husband and I tried our hands at developing a multi-level marketing business (Quixtar). We subsequently went "Emerald" with an organization of over 600 people. We traveled much of the time, doing motivational speaking and teaching with our primary focus on leadership development. During this time, as my children were entering school age, my husband (an architect) designed our home which we built on 2 acres in Hawthorn Woods. (My latest hobby is taking pictures of our sunsets and wildlife.) I became involved in the development of a private Christian elementary school and phased out of my other entreprenurial ventures, serving on the development Board and then as the school's Director.
