Lynne's Story
Graduated from Meredith, married Steve, and went with him to Ohio, where he went to grad school and I taught French and English to ninth graders.
After Air Force tours in Albuquerque, then Sacramento, we located permanently in Richland, Washington, where Steve was an engineer for a nuclear power plant.
I went back to school for a BS in Chemical Engineering, then worked for Siemens Nuclear. We designed and fabricated uranium fuel for nuclear power plants (including Duke pla...Expand for more
nts in NC!). Siemens Nuclear was merged into AREVA, a French company headquartered in Paris. I was transferred to Paris in 2005 for three years - a really great experience! Steve had retired, so was able to come with me.
With all of our "eggs" in the nuclear basket, we survived the ups and downs of that industry!
In 2010, I retired. We now spend winters in Palm Springs, California; and summers in Richland.
So we have year-round good weather for tennis, golf, hiking, biking!
