Maggie's Story
Well, we left AK in Jan of my Sophomore year and we were stationed at Ft Polk, LA. I married and went on to Ft Ord and had my oldest son. We moved to Europe for a few years and then settled back in the SF bay area. Decided that I had an addiction to trauma and have been in the ER for the past 33 years. But that wasn't enough so I became a helicopter pilot for Flight For Life and I flew the last 12 years of my career before it was time to retire. Scott and I live in St Louis and the last of our 7 kids just turned 18. We're almost there! ALMOST...you know how it can be. Scott was just diagnosed with cancer on July 12th and he's just gone through a radical nephrectomy (kidney removal). It's definitely been a kick to the gut for both of us. We're getting through it day by day. We've decided that we'd like to retire near the gulf coast as now we have 1 left in the nest and he'll be a s...Expand for more
enior this year. I have 2 grandchildren. My oldest son was born in 1984. (some of you remember). It's been a long time since high school and I'm now the age that I considered "old". I'm okay with that because I'm not as old as those folks were at my age! Still out there enjoying life..droppin' the top on the mini cooper and taking the tree lined roads to the shore with a man that I love dearly. Making memories, not stressing, stayin' away from the drama..Missing a lot of dear classmates like John Rogers, rest in peace and Jamie Aggen, rest in peace.
It's really wonderful to see how many Huskies have gone on to be happy and healthy and seeing their lives change and progress as we all turn into our parents in some weird way.
