Maggie's Story

Life Where to start..I recently moved from Modesto, CA and purchased some property and a home in Southern Colorado. I am engaged to be married in August. Between us, Scott and I have 6 kids. My oldest is 21 years old and the youngest is 21 months. YES...21! We have 5 boys and 1 girl. I opened my own business this year called "The Basket Cottage" I make gift baskets for corporate accounts. I currently work in the ER in Trauma Services and admissions. I enjoy authentic italian cooking, good wine, the San Francisco Giants (at least we suck consecutively) I'm marrying a Denver Bronco Fan (men..puh) and I'm forever a SF 49er Fan..and again..I know we suck consecutively. Headin' to Maui this summer for our honeymoon. After Alaska, we were stationed in Louisianna -that sucked big time. And then it was back to Monterey California to Ft Ord and then off to the Marine Corp Air Station in Yuma,AZ. Now hold your enthusiasm for that place. We moved to Modesto, CA. We had a very close connection to Laci & Scott Peterson. Laci was my son's teacher at Ustach Middle School and a fantastic person, friend and neighbor. Don't forget to visit her site which is laci peterson dot com. Since leaving Northern CA, we do miss alot of things only available on the coast. Like crab season, deep sea fishing, Yosemite, going to Lake Tahoe for the weekend, sour dough bread bowls of fresh clam chowder on pier 39. What I remember most about Delta Jct and Ft. Greely was sitting in the snack bar, shooting the sh*t with friends and the GI's, eating Mrs Cepeda's egg salad, making out with kids you would die over if anyone found out..AND YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE! Ordering pizza from Pizza Bella and having it delivered to school and trying to get a piece before everyone else snarfed it down. I remember the ever cool Mr. Mark Weller, Our cheezy pep rallies and wandering the halls tryin' not to get caught skippin' class, hidden naked pictures of male models in our lockers. I remember my combination to my locker, 10-1-31, catching the 2nd bus and riding to school in the dark w/ Jr's and Sr's and HATING to take the first bus to school with Freshman's and Sophomores. That sucked too. And, I thought it was so cool that there was a teacher named JACK DANIELS. My fiance's last name is Daniels..and my #3 boy's name is Jack Okay, no connection there..I mean the guy looked like a lawn troll with a thyroid proplem, but he was cool. Nowdays, I catch myself sounding like my mother, yellin' at the kids, "TURN THAT CRAP DOWN".."NO YOU CAN'T TAKE THE CAR".."YOU ARE NOT GOING OUT DRESSED LIKE THAT"..(and that's to my mother) My oldest son, Jonathon is 21. Most of you won't remember that at all, but he's awesome. One of my best friends. All my kids are taller than me. Even the 21 month old. They grow so fast. All healthy, all wise asses and all beautiful. I have been blessed. What's up with you all? I'm sure that with a good bottle of wine, we could remember some really funny stories and memories. Post them. It takes a few minutes, but it's worth it. We've all got this common thread in common. We were young in Alaska and we all went through the same crap at home, at school and with friends. Thanks for reading Maggie School I got to make out with David Herman once, but he bragged about it on the bus to Steve McVeigh and so I denied it. He was a good kisser for a young guy. I remember playing spin the bottle at Sgt Ramo'...Expand for more
s house which had a nephew named Tim. Tim dated a friend of mine named Tabatha Wells. Anyone remember? We all sat at the back of the bus and "LITTLE JOHN"..who wasn't so little used to sit in the back of the bus on the right side. I remember riding the bus w/ david herman, lori herman.(never seen without his boombox)& Christy Gibbens, and a few others. I remember listening to REO speedwagon, Rick James, AC/DC, Foriegner on the boom box that Tim or David Herman always brought. Remember lunch tickets? Crappy lunches at school. It's good to know my kids are suffering the same thing. White-washing freshmans, taking off at lunch time and getting stoned, coming back to school afterwards to Mr. Tumi's Choir class and trying to hit any note on key, singing infront of the school in choir concerts, watching Chantelle Everhart trying to position that huge cello between her legs with her long dress on and still trying to look like a lady. I remember getting caught smoking in the girl's room by the home ec class by Mrs Jergens and being suspended. Remember wandering the halls to cut class? Still the best time I had during teen age years was at DJ high. College Went to college at Santa Clara University and got my dregree in pre-law, corporations and business, and dabbled in family law for a while. Finally paid my student loans off 8 years ago. What a pain in the A** Workplace currently, I am working in Trauma and Admissions for St. Mary-Corwin's hospital in Pueblo, CO. I was in trauma back in Modesto CA also. Worked with some celebrities. Elizabeth Taylor,Robert Conrad, Matthew Perry and a few others. Robert Conrad was very cool, Matthew Perry was weird. Elizabeth Taylor was "dahhling". They were the cool ones. Some of the other celebrities sucked. If any of you are in ER/Trauma/or the medical field, you know the stories we have. Some funny and some nasty and some very inspiring. So much for my degree in law. I also opened my own busines. The Basket Cottage makes designer gift baskets for corporate accounts. I have a website but I'm not allowed to list a url so.. try The Basket Cottage 1 dot com. See if that works. It's under construction right now but you'll get the idea. Military Ok,my parent's names are Russ and Linda Mahon. we were stationed at Greely in Feb of 1980 thru Dec 82' My pop worked at the NCO club. He was the chef. My mom was the head KP for the NCO club. My pop was in special troops battalion under Sgt Cepeda. We hung out with GI's named: Russ Walker, Terrance Coleman, Fast Eddie, Papasan, Johnny Payne aka double O-J, Dave Fuller, Double O-J, Sgt Tolman Double OJ, Frank The Cherry Pie Maker, Gary and Lisa Coleman, Diane Loutinou,(diane and Lisa were waitresses at the NCO Club) Dave "How the hell are ya" Witt, an indian man named "Blue Feather Red Door", a guy named Woodard. They were kicked out of housing for being filthy and he was DD for fraud, Mike and Kerry Robert, Hey Roberts, if you see this, HOW YA DOIN' BINKY BUZZARD? Richard Hed!! We called him Hedder, John May, Guy Blocker (still sexy I'll bet) Anyone remember Susie Huddleston and Jody(can't remember her last name) Um, what about when the 101st and 82 airborne came to Greely for Cold Winter Survival Training? HIDE THE WOMEN AND THE BEER! They lined up the tables in the NCO club and poured beer down them and they would run, jump and slide down the tables until the MP's came and shut em' down! That was funny.
