I remarried in 1966 and moved to Minnesota where I got my BA in Business Administration and Masters in Management and Administration. I worked for Scott County for 34 years retiring in 2003 as Community Services Director over Human Services, Public Health, Veterans and Extension.During that time I was a community faculty member at Metropolitan State University.
We built a great house overlooking Lake Superior and I worked for two years as a coordinatoer of services for kids with multiple problems. After another retirement we boated across the state of New York on the Erie Canal (a lifelong dream,)started spending Winters in the Rio Grande Valley, took up motorcycling and started traveling more.We now live in Texas but spend summers at our little home in Pine River, Minnesota. I still love to swim and frequently play water volleyball. I belong to a Writers Group that published a book last year and I play Mah Jongg at least once a week.I tutor first and second graders in reading once a week. We are planning a motorcycle trip to the Balloon Fest in New Mexico this year a few weeks before the 50th reunion which I am going to attend. Our trip to Alaska last year completed travel in all fifty states. We have also traveled extensively in Canada and Mexico and have enjoyed trips to the Carribbean, the Virgin Islands and Europe. Still a lot of places to see!! Update, in the last few years we visited Ireland, Scotland, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Hungary, Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic. Also took cruises to the British West Indies and the Caribbean. Next month we are going to Iceland for three days before leaving Sweden for a cruise to Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Russia and Germany.I am now on the Resident Advisory Board here which keeps me pretty busy. I do enjoy retirement. I am still volunteering at the elementary school but also at Texas Technical Institute.
