Malinda (Mindy)'s Story

Life Headed down to the bay area not long after graduation. After 10 years in San Francisco, I moved the the island of Alameda. It reminds me so much of Chico - with all of the rich architecture and tree lined streets. Folks here are really nice too. Lived on a sail boat for 3 1/2 years and married a writer who was also a sailor (just sailboats, not military). Moved ashore and went into real estate in 1986. Love helping people find homes. After all this time it's still the most fun I've ever had... while making money that is! Of course there are more fun things in life, but generally no one pays you quite so well to do them. Real Estate has provided me with some great experiences through the volunteering I have done my Realtor Association. Got to serve on local, regional and state Boards of Directors. Worked on some seriously interesting committees dealing with issues that affect my industry. Boy does that sound geeky. a cerebral hemorrhage in June of 2000. But, life does go on and mine is full and reasonably happy. We had a great marriage and many years of happiness so I count what we had as a real blessing. Since then spare time was usually spent with friends, reading, dining out, sailing a bit, traveling (finally made it to Italy in 2001, Ireland in 2004 and in 2007 to London, then on to a wedding in Serbia- What an adventure that was!), visiting family, enjoying time with my nieces, nephews and wonderful godson Nathanial. When I got back from my London/Serbia adventure in 2007, I met a wonderful guy named Ed. We are so alike it is spooky - We both like cooking, reading, theater and travel. How lucky we are to have found partners at this stage of life. We decided to make it permenant and, on the first day of spring 2009, we got married in the Petaluma countryside. We are happy as can be living in his home in Pleasant Hill. So now I commute to Alameda, where I am still happily selling houses.
