Mamie's Story
I got married in 1966 moved to (the big town) of Winton. My husband went to Viet Nam for 1 yr. I stayed there for 4yrs. Husband/I transferred to New Jersey for 7 yrs. In that time frame, our 3 kids were born. Then a transfer to Hawaii. I worked in the school system and did volunteer work. Family split up after the 7yrs, stationed on Oahu Island. back in Atwater to care for my mom at home..My dad/her had been in a care home. Dad died of Alzhiemers 2002..Never thought to this day I would be back where I started from..One doesn't ever know where "life" will take you.. Graduated from Atwater High in 1964..Ienjoy the time I can visit my 3 kids through the year. Take very long walks/meet up with people, I knew yrs back..I"m searching my heritage from Italy-the south west in the states.
