Marc's Story
Life
I'm married to a former Jenison 1984 graduate Laura Bush. Our wedding date was Dec.1 1989.Its kinda funny. we knew each other in school but never dated until after high school. But, I do remember her and her friend would come to the swimming meets when I was on the swim team in high school.And it wasn't until one night out with some friends at a bar that we reconnected. Now several years have now past since our wedding day and three children (all girls) later.
Our children: Megan our oldest currently 14 following some of my footsteps. Shes on the swim team with Mr. Scripsema as her coach.She is also following my wife's footsteps also by being in the marching band. But she plays the clarinet.And doing great with straight A's.
Molly my middle daugher now in Jr. high at the age of 12 keeping us busy with AAU Girls basketball, Jr. high b-ball,and swimming/diving on jr. high team w/coach Scrips as a diver.
Madison my youngest at the age 7 in first grade, enjoying life by playing AYSO soccer, and figure skateing out at Georgetown Ice Center. Madison also loves to swim in the pool in the backyard as well.
All three girls love to shop at the mall,go to movies,or even visit me at the ice rink to watch some hockey.I can't forget about there time on the computers w/my space or facebook,even webkinz.Oh yeah! what about the boys?Cell phon...Expand for more

College
I attended Northwestern College, in Orange City Iowa. I attended for just one year after high school between 1983-1984. My roommate was actually one of my cousins that is from rock valley Iowa.The highlite was the weekends headed to Sioux city to to dance the night away at the dance club called the Lucky Lady.Maybe having too much fun and not studying was my downfall. But dancing was a way to cut loose I guess?
Workplace
I'm currently at Georgetown Ice Center as an assistant to operations mgr. of ice and maintenance. I'm also now a certified USA Hockey referee.Working at the ice rink is like a dream job where its like having fun most of the time than really working even though I am. I help with the maintenance of the ice, by checking the machines that chill the ice and the temps. to actually driving the zamboni. And yes there is a Zamboni school where you get certified through STAR an organization that trains people.
Prior to landing the drem job in 2004 at the ice rink I was a stay at home dad.And before that I worked at Total Logistics Control as a shipping/ recieving coordinator and driving a hi-lo. Then before that I was self employed as a truck driver co owner of two trucks with my father. this was all after I spent one year in college at Northwestern College,Orange City, Iowa.
