Marc's Story
Hi: Hmmmm, 43 years and counting since graduation. I grew up in the Farm Hills area of Redwood City, attended Roy Cloud and Goodwin/JFK before San Carlos High. Remember just hanging out with some guys somewhere near the boys locker room or just walking around campus. Lettered in swimming, water polo, soccer, and track, although was not a star in any of these sports. Went on to San Jose State, dropped out, then back to Canada, CSM, and finally UC Berkeley for a BS in Forestry in '73. Moved to Fort Bragg in the middle of the redwood region and went to work for a mega timber company where I spend 14 years hiking for pay. Moved on to CALFIRE in Santa Rosa, then back to Fort Bragg as manager of Jackson Demonstration State Forest. tress. However, managing a large research and demonstration forest wasn't half bad. Now retired and thinking of starting a forest management consulting business (part-time). Bought myself a motorcycle after being off them for 38 years. Love to ride, especially the twisty two-lanes and gravel Forest Service roads. Love to hike and fish in wild places. Divorced after 28 years of marriage, 2 kids (29 and 23 yrs). My honey Karen and I love to take short trips. We're very different, but enjoying each-other's interests. Looking forward to hearing from some classmates, though have to admit that I have forgotten most of the names. Never forget a face though. Still in contact with Steve Fishell and Rich James, and keeping up with the exploits of some of the Burton Park Brawlers from the old days in San Carlos. Marc
