Marcelino's Story
Life
Attended AHS 64-67
Hey Bull Dogs, this is Marcelino. I often recall those wonderful times we had back in the Day. Although I was rather shy and introverted I got trapped in my senior year and hung with the so-called "IN CROWD" only to find out it was really the "Out Crowd." Here's a little BIO.
I joined the Army after High School and was sent to Vietnam. I served with the 4/12 Infantry of the 199th Infantry in Ben Hoa from August 1968 to Aug 1969. I married in 1970, raised two sons, Paul and David and divorced in 2002. I have one grandson, Andrew Marc amd grand daughter Courtney who live with Papa Paul and family in Las Vegas, NV. In 1971 I joined the US Coast Guard and retired in 1988. I entered the ministry of The Salvation Army in 1991 and recently changed vocations in Sep of 2001. I am currently employed with the US Postal Service here in Albuquerque. Life has taken me through different stages and generally they have all been good. One good thing to remember is that "you are who you are and your ethics will prove you out."
I would like to meet/chat with other Bull Dogs who remember the good old times at AHS.

was stationed with the 197th LIB at Fort Benning Georgia prior to my assignment to HHC 4/12 of the 199th LIB in Ben Hoa, RVN. I ended my tour with the Army in April 1970 while stationed at Fort Leonardwood, MO. I joined the U.S. COAST GUARD in April 1971 and was stationed at Government Island, Alameda CA for indoctrination. In September of 1971 I was assigned to Coast Guard Recruiting in Niles, Illinois. I then was stationed with the CGMIO in Chicago from 1975 to 1978 and then transferred to the USCGC TAMAROA out of Governor's Island NY. Upon advancement to CPO in 1979 I was assigned to Third Coast Guard District (p) in the personnel office taking on the responsibilities of Chief Training and Education with additional fuctions in the Medals and Awards section. In 1983 I was assigned as the Officer In Charge of the Recruiting Office at San Diego, California until my retirement in May of 1988.
August 2009 - Where has all the time gone. I turned 60 years old this past April. Seem that life, as the song goes, "is slowly drifing away." I long for the days of my youth. The memories of those days are still fresh and will be with me always. Bull Dogs keep your dreams strong.
