Marcia's Story

After High School I moved to Hampton, Virginia where I was married, had two children and attended Commonwealth College of Virginia. We lived in the Virginia Beach area for about eight years before returning to Georgia. Between 1990 and 1996 my family and I lived in various places such as Corpus Christi, Texas, New London, Connecticut, Gulfport, Mississippi and Fayetteville, Georgia while my husband was in the military. We finally settled down in a small North Carolina town known as Cherryville where my husband and I divorced and my son moved to Virginia to live with his father. My daughter and I continued to living in North Carolina where she still resides with her family. 2007 was filled with many changes for me. The first was the birth of Jackson, my first grandbaby and the apple of my eye Now going on three years old he is the most adorable little man that I have ever met. I now have two grandchildren and one that is due in May 2010. I also remarried and relocated to Lake Oconee where I lived for about a year. In September my husband was offered a position with BB&T and we transferred to Blue Ridge, Georgia. Thankfully, by October we had found a house and were getting settled by mid November. I must say Blue Ridge is BEAUTIFUL and great place to visit but I did NOT like living there at all. As quoted from a popular movie ¿it¿s a geographical oddity¿, meaning it¿s two w...Expand for more
eeks from everything. In this case it was two hours from everything being centrally located between Atlanta, Asheville and Tennessee. If you are into hiking, kayaking, writing, painting or riding motorcycles and leaf looking then I say ¿GO FOR IT!¿ otherwise there is not much there to do on a ¿full time¿ residence basis. In October Robert and I once again were relocated to the Knoxville area. The feeling of ¿been there done that¿ flooded me as we had done this only a year ago, so much for enjoying the traditional holiday fun and festivities. However, we have had a lot of enjoyment. We spent a majority of November house hunting and December moving and getting settled into our new home. It¿s been a crazy busy two years but I have made it a goal to have a normal holiday with our families in the coming years. I have had the greatest time of my life since I graduated in 1982. I have lived in various cities, traveled through many State¿s, met many wonderful people and have many exciting memories and stories to tell. I have given my time graciously to charities and organizations. I have walked for cancer, given to the hungry, donated and visited orphanages in foreign countries. My greatest accomplishment though was growing up with my two beautiful children and watching them become wonderful adults. I would like to believe that I gave them wings to fly and roots to return to.
