Marcia's Story
Life
I had the privledge of teaching high school students English and Business Education. It was a wonderful career, ending in retirement. During that time and continuing now I have had wonderful opportunities travelling to Europe, a bit of Asia at Istanbul and completed reaching my goal of seeing all 50 states. I returned to Greece and Turkey in 2005 and in August of 2006 I finally got to Poland, the birthplace and homeland of all of my grandparents. What a beautiful, historical country! My list of places to see gets more exciting every year. In addition, I have found fulfilling hobbies such as gardening. I have been fortunate to keep up with grade school and high school friends and through classmates I have found another group from college. The internet is a wonderful...Expand for more
tool for keeping up with people world wide and I am grateful that it is so easy to stay in contact with my friends in Italy, Slovakia , England , Wales, Germany, France and Sri Lanka as well.
When I can get away to Galena Illinois I escape to my historical house built in 1829. It is a true place of solace. I feel very lucky to be able to pass on the history of the old Taylor Farm and subsequently have found members of the Taylor family.
I truly enjoy my animals, a cocker spaniel family and 3 cats. It seems the neighborhood outdoor critters like to hang around here too as there are all kinds of birds, rabbits and squirrels that think this place is the local diner.
My friends have been both life long and newly met but I am so lucky to be able to call each one of them friend.
