Marcia's Story
After High School, I attended Catherine Laboure School of Nursing for 3 years. After graduating from there, I went back to the Cape and worked as a RN at the Cape Cod Hospital, then St. Margaret's in Dorchester. I went back to the Cape and worked for Dr. Leonard Smith and Alfred Sheehy as an OB-GYN nurse until 1982 which I married and moved to Florida. er Haven Hospital on the Psychiatric Unit where I eventually became the Administrtive Director until this past May 2008 when I retired. My husband passed away in March of 2008 . I have a chinese Pug named Toby and he is my constant companion.
In 1993, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and underwent surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. This past JUne I celebrated being 15 years cancer free and helping and supporting breast Cancer victims is one of the areas I enjoy helping.
