Marcie's Story
Marcie Collins
After leaving the Sem, I went on to Marywood College, now University, where I majored in - surprise! Music. I did a double major in piano and cello, and after graduating I taught in the Scranton Public Schools for 2 years. I taught strings, which was fine, and general music to all the nincompoops who couldn't do band, orchestra, or chorus. After my 2 years in purgatory I went back to school at Ithaca College where they have a fantastic music school. I was very fortunate to study with Einar Holm and I continued on with him after graduation. I did a bit of traveling and then I got married to Tony Ewasko. /Boy Scout leader which I did for close to 25 years. We have 3 sons: Brian, who just retired from the AF and who is the father of my 3 wonderful grandchildren, Michael who is in LA, and Tim, who lives in Houston. All are married and have wonderful wives. We also have a beautiful daughter, Melissa, who is studying to become an Early Childhood teacher. Currently I am the Instrumental Music Director at St. Stephen Catholic Community in Winter Springs, FL, still teach privately, and I'm the founder and cellist with Classic Mix, a string quartet. I manage to keep quite busy. I'm looking forward to reading your profiles. For those of you who remember her, my sister Lucille died this past year, in June. She had been battling lymphoma for 9 years, and it finally got her. Please keep her in your prayers.
