Marco's Story
I'm Marco, you may or may not remember me as I was usually very shy and prefered to sit in the back of the class room, so I wouldn't have to answer questions.
I worked random jobs right after High School, while pursuing my love for Hispanic Radio Broadcasting and eventually I landed a part time job in a local Fresno radio station and spent the next 18 years working in the Mexican Radio Industry in various California radio stations as a D.J. and as Program Director. At the same time I was producing low budget music videos for a while and I last worked in radio in 2005. school and completed my B.A. in Business Management.
I bought a property with the purpose of converting it into a bar & grill but ran into a few obstacles with the city, their codes and ordinances, so I found a loop hole and instead opened a Second Hand Surplus Shop, "this is far from the entertainment industry, ha?". It started like a Thrift Shop but evolved into more like a Pawn Shop and for now this is what I do, although I have to say I do miss the entertainment industry quite a bit and hope that I can go back sometime in the near future.
Working in radio presented me with many challenges and satisfactions and it gave me the confidence and the strength to acomplish anything and everything, I just wish I'd known this while I was in High School.
