Marcus's Story
Life
After high school, I entered the Marine Corps. I reported to boot camp at MCRD San Diego. I quickly spent my first two years overseas in Okinawa, Japan. I was transferred to the Marine Barracks at 8th & I, in Washington D.C. In January of 1986, I was transferred to Naval Air Station, Lemoore, California, where I served the rest of my second enlistment. I spent 7 1/2 years in the Marine Corps. After my honorable discharge, I worked in insurance for a few months until I was employed by the State of California, where I am currently working and have been since November 1989. Everything is actually going pretty good for me now, I am just working waiting for retirement, which should be in about eight more years. If everything works out right, I should be retiring at 49 yerars old. There is no way that I will be retiring in California. At this time I am considering either Arizona, Nevada or Texas.

OF ALL THE PLACES I HAVE BEEN I HAVE TO SAY THERE WAS NO PLACE THAT I ENJOYED MORE THAN OVERSEAS. ALTHOUGH THE FRIENDS THAT I HAVE MADE IN D.C. AND NAS LEMOORE HAVE BEEN CLOSER TO ME AND HAVE MAINTAINED CLOSE CONTACT TO THIS DAY.
Currently, as of June 10, 2015, I have three beautiful children, Sherell, Sierra and Marcus Jr. (We call him litle Marcus) I am currently single and enjoying every minute of my new found freedom and first full year of retirement. I still don't know how my single mother did it all by herself and didn't put me in the ground. I'm sure some of you know how wild and reckless I was.
I really had a great time at the last reunion (2007). It was good to see old friends and faces. There were some that I was hoping to see that didnt' show. Maybe next time. Life is short and time is precious, so I am planning on attending the next reunion. Hopeuflly I will see everyone there.
