Maren's Story
UPDATE: After some hard times with a bad relationship, I've finally met someone who I call my soul mate. Strange what happens when you aren't looking and least expect it. The first time we met I knew......came for a visit and never left!! I'm living in Napa, CA now and my life is better than it has been in years! (TY Honey....ILY). My son recently turned 19 and has been given a scholarship to Oregon Institute of Technology....and living in the dorms! I'm soooo proud! I now have two (from my guy) daughters since moving to Napa, two beautiful and intelligent teenage girls......too pretty for their own good! Love em to death!
Life
Well, I'm living in Santa Cruz, CA, now. I am in the computer industry and have been for years now. My son is a senior in high school and the joy of my life. Of course, I have a cat.....those who know me would know I wouldn't be without one.
For those who may want to contact me......use scgretel at the Yhoo and I can reply back......lol and have a nice day!
School
Just recently moved back to Santa Cruz after living closer to San Francisco for a couple of years. I love being back in Santa Cruz now......it's one of my favorite places.
My son just turned 18 years old, in October 2007, and I'm trying to figure out just how I feel about that....LOL But he's doing great in school, probably going to get a scholarship for academics and sports, so I couldn't be prouder.
My family is doing well. My brother, also a Walnut High alumni (class of '86) is living close by to me, sometimes we even get to see each other!! He's a busy guy and travels quite a bit. My mother, who most of my friends remember, is doing well. Planning to move to Norcal for her golden years. My dad is living up in Oregon and is retired and spendin all my inheritance..LOL
O...Expand for more
ther than that? You'll have to email me to find out.....if ya didn't catch it before - scgretel at the yhoo. Since I cannot even read emails or guest book signatures with a standard membership.....hope to talk to you soon!!
College
I didn't pay as much attention to the academics of it all as I should have. This I regret. But, I did have a wonderful time doing my sports activities. I was constantly in the gymnasium doing my gymnastics. I also joined the wrestling team. Yes, the wrestling team. I actually helped Coach Burri out as his statistician and got to travel to away meets with them, such great times. I also was on the Ski Team/Club, I was in charge of membership on the committee. Those days were the best ever, we had way too much fun! I truly miss my friends from the team.....they were the such good people, and boy could they throw a party!! lol
Workplace
I started out working the usual teenager jobs.....boring!! Then I moved on up to regular office work for a diesel engine company as a Pricing Coordinator for the export department. That was a great job, loved going there everyday.
Moved to Huntington Beach and got involved with the surf/skate/snow apparel industry and worked for several different companies over a 10 year period of time. This industry is thankless unfortunately, but did have some great fringe benefits. I couldn't take the ups and downs of it's fickleness any longer, so I moved on.
I then moved into the technology industry. Started working as a Technical Support Coordinator for a few years before moving on into actual computer repairs and networking. I am now doing just that. Computer repairs, sales, networking, maintenance....all of it. I love what I do......and I hope I have the pleasure of sticking with it until retirement time comes along.
