Margaret's Story
After high school I went to Memphis State and then worked for awhile in the early 70's at Memphis Housing Authority. Then I left Memphis for Tupelo, Ms. where I worked at Bankers Trust Savings and Loan. Missed home so I came back to work at Dover Elevator. Have been a mom and a homemaker for a very long time.
I was married to a wonderful man for 29 years. In 2003 I lost my mother to homicide and 14 months later my husband to cancer. He had done two tours in Vietnam and exposure to Agent Orange finally caught up with him. Never a day goes by that I don't miss him. We have a beautiful 23 year old daughter, Anna Meagan, who was the joy of his life and the miracle we prayed for. She is the most precious thing in my heart and next to my relationship with the Lord, I value her above all else.
For a long time tragedy turned my life upside down and even after that there was such unnecessary pain someone added to my life. But thru all of this I learned that God is bigger than all our disappointments, regrets and sadness. I have so much to be thankful for in life - the blessing of a life-long friend who knows everything there is to know about me and still loves me; the gift of a precious little life I thought I would ...Expand for more
never have and finally the love of a great man who has made the second time around yet another blessing from God. (See Photos)
Robbie ~ Southaven HS Class of '80 is a business owner, craftsman and an exceptional husband. His laughter is contagious, his honesty and integrity are a rarity in today's world. He is a reminder to me of what the bible says ~ that "weeping shall endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning". What I did to deserve the Love, Respect and Protection of two wonderful men God sent into my life - I don't know, but he saved the best two in the world just for me.
Looking back over the years since high school, I realize what a good life I have had and would not change most of it. I do know that life goes by awfully fast. I've had more blessings from God than I have ever deserved and everything I am or hope to be I owe to Him.
Who you are is God's gift to you. Who you become in the light of who God wants you to be is your gift to Him. Soon this life will be over and it will not have mattered how many friends you had or how successful you were in life. All that will matter are the things you have done in His name. Love well and be committed - or else not at all. Treasure the ones that love you.
