Margaret's Story
Life
Senor year I met the man who became my husband. We married a little over a year later. Have two kids, girls. The eldest has even made me a (shudder) grandmother. Heather is the oldest, Holly the younger, both have already married and divorced. Yea! (Can you tell I didn't like my SiLs?) Holly has remarried, to my BF's son and is happy.
Over the years I've gone from shy to outgoing and had many other changes happen. which I won't go into. (no-don't thank me)
I make home sewn quilts and sell them. Collect Barbies and few other things. Have moved back to Chatta to the house I lived in just after I got married. (Grandparents old house) Gotten into SF&F conventions. If u'r ever at LibertyCon, hey, look me up, I'll be at the reg. desk. And attend the Metaphysical fairs in town. I go by Romana most the time at these events and on the computer.
Other than that, wouldn't mind hooking up with some old friends and catching up....
Recently I just lost my Husband of 32 years from a Heart Attack (July 2010).
School
all I got to say here is "If only I knew then what I know now!"
College
Attended Cleveland State Comm. College Here in TN for 2 years catching up (didn't attend intill my Kids were in Elem. school) and taking Busn. Management class's. didn't get my degree. Most class' were common sense, EXCEPT f...Expand for more
or Accounting. after taking it 3 times, I settled for a D. There is NO logic to debit/credit there. Advertising and writing for the school paper were my favorite, though they didn't have much to do with my major. Never did anything in that field. just raised my kids.
Workplace
Not much on the workplaces. Been a stay-at-home wife and mother. felt that was REALLY work. But I did work for Hills Dept. Store here in Chatta for awhile. then later helped out the owners of a couple of places for the next few years. Fort Oglethorpe Bowling Lanes was great. Got to bowl free and eat free for working behind the counter or snackbar. Then after they sold the alley, I worked at a Wine Making Shoppe in Hixson. The owner would go away to teach classes or something and I would run the store and help answer questions. (this was when we were into making homemade wines) At this time I was preggy with 2nd child so it was staying at home full time then. After the Kids grew up and moved out I got a job at Maytag. It lasted one night. I'd gotten to old and out of shape for 10-12 hours bending over, standing up in very hot conditions over and over all night.
Now I'm working at Taco Bell. They were the only one's that would take a chance on someone that hadn't worked in the outside world. Maybe I'll work up to management there...
