Margaret's Story
Hello to all my old classmates. I have been thinking about my old friends and wondered how life had treated you and how have you responded to your life. Are you married? Children? Pets? Do you still have jobs? (chuckle)
I must say that I have had my shares of ups and downs however; my faith has been the thing that has gotten me through thus far. I have been blessed beyond measure, far more than I deserve. I am married to a wonderful man that I met while I was a senior at Sarasota High. We just celebrated our 40th anniversary. We have two awesome children. Our oldest, our daughter, Lynn Townsend Burnett, is a Civil Engineer and has her own company, Lynn Townsend & Assoc., LLC, here in Bradenton. Our youngest, our son, Scott (Michael Scott) Townsend, is a residential designer and has his own company, CSM Design, Inc., here in Bradenton as well.
We have four grandchildren, three boys and one little princess (wishful thinging) who thinks that she can do whatever the boys can do, but she can do it better, just ask her.
I am an author, my first book, "In Search of Diamonds", Finding the Perfect Relationships, by Maggie McClen and can be purchased at any local book store but must be ordered from the service desk due to it not being stocked.
My husband, Kenneth A. Townsend, like many was forced to retire early due to lack of work, but God h...Expand for more
as provided and we are fine. He has taken this opportunity to become a "Certified Home Inspector" and started his own company, Gulf Coast Inspections. Not only does he do home inspections but civil engineering inspections as well. He can be reached at (941)779-4400. He is "enjoying" his reitrement. hehe :)
My health has not been good to me. I was diagnosed with an auto-immune disorder several years ago and that diagnose explained a lot of other problems I was having. I have 19 different medical conditions which have made my life a bit difficult however; my faith in Jesus has kept me sane, more than that, it has lead me down paths I would never have gone down otherwise. "The joy of the Lord is my strength" (Nehemiah 8:10) and through that "strength" I have surpassed all the doctors wisdon and thinking. Some of my family members that had the same illness have passed on and did not make it to 50 years of age. Yeah, I am 58 and going strong. I have a lot going for me and I have much to much to do to slow down.
I am currently working on my second book, "Reach for the Sky", How the Rich Get Richer. I am also working on our family ancestery, this has been a lot of fun. I also am active in my church, Bayside Community Church, which is located off State Rd. 64 East of I-75. We are in the building process and currently have approx. 2500 members.
