Margaret's Story

Hi everyone: Winter has finally loosened it's grip on Exton. Birds are singing, trees have a blush of red on the tips of branches and the wind has cut way down. I love the change of seasons and Spring is one of my favorites. How are all of you doing? Life has a way of zipping by when we are over a certain age!!!! Not saying what that is. I will be visiting my daughter and family in Rumson NJ this weekend. See them every six weeks or so. Have my son and family about three miles away. I do lots of work with Senior Citizens to help them be comfortable in their homes. Worship at a large Methodist Church about eight miles from here. My life is filled with friends, lunch dates and so on. Would love to hear from folks in the class of 1961. It seems like only yesterday that we were sitting on the side of the football field on Lathrop Avenue cheering for the Boonton Bombers. Hope that all is well in your lives. Peggy I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a afraid of my shadow idea. As it turns out, they were very wrong. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have a good pair of shoes, a smile on my face, and a great atmosphere to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My Grandmother. Her life was turned upside down by losing her husband when she was only 50 years old. She had very little income so had to take in boarders Great books, good food, good friends, and time to enjoy all of them I've had many trips in my life which I never dreamed would be possible. Hawaii, five trips to Europe, Three trips to do mission work in South Africa. All of these were dreams come true. If I won a large amount of money, I would tithe 20%, make arrangements for my grandchilden to attend college, and then see about doing some other charity work. To be truly happy, I would hope that my family would all ...Expand for more
be healthy, and that we could sit on the beach somewhere warm and sunny. My current age is old enough to get a Senior Discount. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be sitting in a rocking chair. I was so completely off base. To publish a good book about being a caregiver for my dear husband and my mother. That was one of my greatest achievments in life I don't have the slightest idea what happened to Alan Ricker. We were good friends and I cared a lot about him. We lived about one half block away from one another. I am usually color coordinated, but not in a way out style. I'm kind of a classic lady with a flair for splash of color here and there. Love to wear hats I was a sattelite communications person at Bell Telephone Labs in Murray Hill, NJ. Fed information onto cards using a keypunch machine. Had a lot of fun doing that. I was voted most Valuable member for the local theater group. SErved as Treasurer and Secretary for several years. Loved doing it too In 10 years, I hope to be a neat lady with lots of things to do. I'm going to get there by smiling my way in life. Diane is the lady I would have chosen for a sister, We met at Church and have been soul mates ever since. We have cried, laughed and done everything together. Shared so many good times as well as tough ones. I still look pretty good for a lady who is over a certain age. I take care of myself and dress like a young person. No mini skirts or high heels, just a nice pair of slacks and a nice sweater or shirt. I am not in wheel chair any more. I am walking pretty well. Must use a crutch for suport, but have traveled around the world dong that. Life is so good to me. My first job was at Bell Telephone Labs, where I got paid $27.50 per week to deliver mail. What I remember most about it is having forty men to deliver to. They used to tease me so much..

I am sorry that I did not get a better song title. Can't imagine who or what that singer had in mind. Guess I'm an old person
Bette Davis not so much. Liz Taylor you bet.
