Margaret's Story

I married Jim Sanders in 1966. He has been a United Methodist pastor for 47 years. (Though he retired 5 years ago, he still serves two small United Methodist churches and is the Director of Methodist Studies at Brite Divinity School at TCU. I got my undergrad degree from TCU - History, English, teaching, and my master's from Texas Woman's University in Reading - all level, and supervision. I retired 5 years ago, after working in public schools for 35 years. I still tutor in reading, substitute teach in three nearby districts, and work with persons seeking alternative certification through iteachTEXAS...Expand for more
. We have one daughter, who just turned 40. She has three degrees from UT - Plan II Liberal Arts Honors, Special Education, and a JD from the School of Law. She has one son who will be 6 in a couple of weeks. Her husband is also an attorney. We live on about 15 acres, near the community of Brock. We have 7 horses, 2 dogs, and 3 cats. So, our animals keep us busy. We enjoy our life here. (As a United Methodist minister, Jim was appointed to "a few churches," and so we moved fairly often, although he was at one church in Arlington for 11 1/2 great years, and we still hear from some of those people.)
