Margaret's Story

July 19, 2023 Born June 24, 1963 Just turned 60. My friend sang happy birthday at midnight. It hit me hard. I cranked out a few tears. Reality check for more health problems. Well I just joined for 3 months to see if my shy teenaged self my mom sheltered after I hit puberty. (God rest her soul) would possibly be remembered 40-44 yrs later. I ignored high school reunions and keeping in touch because I hated high school. But today I’m at an age when my life is probably going to expire in the next 15 or so years. I do value all of you who put up with me or simply conversed and had things in common to do together. I loved playing sports with you. I especially loved softball. Basketball I sucked at. Til this day I don’t understand why Mrs Fredricks didn’t kick me off the team. Volleyball was okay. I didn’t like being short at the net so I took advantage of diving to the floor to get underneath the ball for a hopeful save and to avoid the other team’s potential ACE. le in the US Army. If I wasn’t married I would have enlisted in the Navy. Their food is delicious. I’ve always been one to enjoy new adventurers. My marriage lasted 16 yrs (painfully was the last 9 yrs). I had 0 children cause my mom’s schizophrenia skips a generation on her side of the family. I didn’t want to experience that kind of hell again through my children. My upbringing with my mom and the illness creeping up on her caused me some anxiety issues. My high school years with sports were a temporary escape. The school counselor made things worse. Talking to people who were oblivious just called me a rebellious teenager and “no mother would do that to her child.” Presently I have been in love with my partner of 12 yrs. I have a beautiful Ragdoll kitten who is 10 months. Great emotional support. I’m taking on guitar lessons more seriously and enjoying the challenge. Well thanks for listening. I left a lot out of my story so if you have questions, (no matter who you are), and if I am willing to relive a memory, then we can chat. I look forward to hearing from any of the 2000 teenage students at heart. I want to know (without judgement) how you’ve been. Sincerely Margaret
