Margaret's Story
Somehow looking back I wonder how I ever survived high school. I just wanted it to be over so I could figure out what my life could be. And I'm still trying to figure that out. I don't think I'll ever grow up - that is for sure.
Life has been wonderful. My husband Richard and I definitely have incredible days of joy. We've known each other 30 years now. He made me learn to ski, I made him learn to scuba dive, we both adore cooking and play lots and lots of golf. Oh yes, and years ago we ran marathons but after breaking my kneecap my running days are gone.
I went to Cal Poly and graduated with my mechanical engineering degree and what a journey I've had. Years in Mainland China in the 80's building a factory, time with Weyerhauser, adventuring with DEC all over...Expand for more
the country, and then 10+ years in the cellular industry running hard and fast. Oh yes - and I still own the very first cellphone that sent the very first text message in North America. Hard to believe that was almost 20 years ago. I did a stint with a startup and had a great time. Fortunately I retired almost 10 years ago and so far I've only failed retirement in little bits and pieces over the years.
We now live on the coast in Oregon in a little town called Gearhart. And when the winds hit 80 mph and the 75 inches of rain get to us we escape to Palm Desert for a couple of months.
We love to entertain on our deck or patio depending on where we are at - so if you remember me and are in the area when we are home - stop by for a glass of wine and share your story.
