Margie's Story
I have been married for almost 44 years to a wonderful guy but it is very true that you never forget your first love. I was 15 years old, in junior high school, and fell for the school rebel. We were total opposites in many ways but we fell in love. We were together for over 4 years. My father was very strict and did not allow me to date until I was 18!!! For 3 years I was with him every chance I could get. My friends, my brother and even my grandma got me out of the house so I could see him. When I turned 18, I was so happy that I could bring him to our house to meet my parents. Of course, my dad didn't like him. He thought he was a tough guy. , his was too. About 2 years later, I met my husband and married a year later. My first love showed up at the church, followed the limo to the photographers and then to the reception. During the wedding reception, my husband went to the mens room and came back with a huge bottle of champagne and a very big card. My husband ran into him in the hallway and they met for the very first time. My husband told me that he said "Be good to her. Breaking up with her was the biggest mistake of my life". I think of him all the time and I know I still love him and always will. He will be 66 years old in April and I think I have known him longer than anyone other than his family. He was 16 many years ago when we fell in love. I know, deep in my heart, that he never forgot me.
