Mari's Story
I lived in Fort Myers until 2009. I always loved living there, loved the people, the weather and the beach. We moved to High Point, North Carolina and we love it here. We live in the middle of rolling farm country and 2 hours from the Blue Ridge.
I always wanted to be a nurse. I graduated in 1980 from the University of Florida, Go Gators. I still bleed Orange and Blue. I earned my MS in Nursing from USF Tampa in 1988. I have worked the last 14+ years as an adult Nurse Practitioner, most recently in an Internal Medicine practice in south Fort Myers, now at the Durham VA in NC. I still love helping people stay well, especially the elderly.

l 2009, Mike was called to Cedar Square Friends Meeting in High Point as their pastor. Mike has a son , he was 7 when we met. Ryan now 25, is deployed to Afghanistan for his 3rd mid east tour as a US Marine, married and living in NC.
Mike and I adopted an amazing china baby in 2002 from Jiangxi Province in southern China. She is the light of our lives. I had no idea what joy a single life could bring. In addition to working I home school our sweet Ali.
I am not your typical pastor's wife. I am gritty and outspoken, but God continues to work on me.
I love to camp, hike and I am gardener. I actually ate vegetables from my own garden the last 2 years. I am also a handy man, I learned through the years how to fix almost anything.
I still plan to hike a part of the Appalachian trail, when Ali is old enough to pack it with me.
