Maria's Story
Since graduating from Dominican in 1969, I was lucky enough to land a job with a major financial institution in the Wall Street area, stayed there for about 1970, the executive I was working for was the lender for the Woodstock Festival, but I didn't have time to go to it.
After leaving the City I landed a job closer to home (Queens Village) for a local attorney, stayed there for 3 years. During that time I met my husband in 1970, and married in 1972, happily married for 37 years this year. Have 3 grown children, ages 35, 33, and 28, and 4 grandkids, 2 for each daughter. My son recently had a destination wedding in Turks & Caicos, where we just got back, beautiful place to spend time, hoping to go back next year. The entire family went over for the wedding, had a great time!

to work at North Shore-LIJ Health System, in the Finance Department in Westbury, been with NS-LIJ for 19 years. Commute to Queens each week to care for my elderly parents and mother-in-law.
Enjoy crocheting, reading, spending time with family and friends and hoping to win the lottery one day, and retire after paying off everyone's bills and start a permanent vacation with traveling, etc involved, and will do some volunteer work in the community in between.
I've only run into one person who attended school during same time as me, and ironically she also works at NS-LIJ.
I would love to chat with past alumni and see where everyone is after 40 years since we left Dominican?
I am very gratful for a terrific family, and my wonderful grandchildren who I see each weekend, nothing like family and friends to brighten your day!
