Maria's Story
My classmates should remember me as an exchange student from Venezuela, tall and skinny and kind of shy at the time and they always teased me for my clothing. Tina Nojo was another student from Norway and Dorte whose last name I can't remember right now. My favorite teacher was Mr Bond (Drama) and I always kept Mr. Cozine and Mr. Friedman in high regards. My big crush (I can say this after 30 years of marriage) was Gordon Lustig, he played the guitar and wanted to become a musician. My very best friend and sister was Toni Linden(she was a Junior). ology major aspiring to go to Spain for his doctorate, we came to Florida and have been here ever since, from Miami to Tallahassee, to Pensacola and for the past 14 years in Lakeland. I worked for 9 years at Florida Southern College, as director of international students, then worked for Marriott Vacation Club International as manager for international customer service and right now I have my own catering/event planning business, planning on expanding to own my first Reception Hall for all the events in town. I have the presence of God in my life always and it makes me very happy. I love Mickey Mouse (we live 45 minutes away from Disney World), therefore I know I am where I belong sorrounded by people I love.
