Maria's Story
Life
Hi guys! Maria then Papp is now Maria Fihn. I, have two daughters and one son. I am a Registered Nurse, former paramedic, and trauma team (hearts and lungs) specialist. (yes, still an adrenallin fiend!) I also became a Homeopathic physician-- opend my medical office in Centennial Hills in December of 2007. My little boy ,James is now 5 years old.
.Love my kids and my dog! I still do public speaking , a bit of law and am continuing on with more education-- yup, still get bored easily. Anyone seen Jim Ebel lately??? Or Anne Gripentrog(Wright)?
I must say I loved my high school days with everyone at Bonanza better than any college or post- graduate work-- we had a lot of fun together.....Love, Maria Papp-Fihn, RN, APH, FBIH...
Remember the fun, laughter and friendship....much less responsiblility then. Anyone want to go back? I do!
As far as Hero's go yes, this is and was my father who just passed away Oct 1st of 2008. It has really been rough ,. I was his medical consultant, daughter, and caregiver for he and my mom ( I am the only child--and they say we are spoiled-- NO , this is not the case at all) -- wish I had a brother or sister to spread the tasks and to grieve with. Iam certain many of us have lost our folks along the way and my story not so unique. But the great thing was that people from the past --a Bonanza person included came in and helped...Expand for more
me right when I needed it the most -- the night before he died. I will have this always as the warm spot in my heart on a very cold and scary evening before dads demise. This Bonanza Hero will always have my heart --God Bless you( and if you read this you know who you are-)- for being there for us. My dad was a WWII Omaha Beach , Big Red I survivor-- for you history buffs out there he came in on the first wave on Omaha Beach and survived to liberate the death camps. So glad I have his voice on tape to hear his stories including the way General Patton would tell him to walk the dog Major ( dogs name was Willy) and dad of course did with the honor that rang through Pattons voice and selection of dad for what might be menial to some again this was an honor. Dad helped to fight for our freedoms that we enjoy and I truly miss this Hero --War and otherwise.
The best times of my life involved who I knew and all I met at Bonanza High School. I loved being there and getting to know all the great friends -- many of which I still see and talk to...Well Bengals, this tribute is to all of you who enriched my life-- you are loved! Thanks for being a part of my past, present and future...Happy 2009, may it be a new beginning for all of us!
I hope you remember me as fairly good looking, generous, lovable, a good dancer
, sweet , kind , helpful, funny...curious and madly in love with J.E.
