Marian's Story
Currently my husband and I live on 25 acres in Rougemont NC which is a small, quiet rural community less than 15 miles north of Durham. Rewind 40 years --
- Whizzed through Va. Tech in 3 years.
- Moved to Chapel Hill NC and dabbled in radio (Didn't see having a long term career in it) and finance.
- Got MBA from Duke.
- Moved to Durham NC, joined GTE (aka Verizon) and worked my way up the corporate ladder. There were several years my theme song was On the Road Again and I seriously t...Expand for more
hought of claiming either Tampa FL or Dallas TX as my state of residency for tax purposes.
- Got married and had an instant family. Continued working 50-60 hour weeks.
- Retired several years ago.
- Now spend a portion of my time working for a Foundation which provides funding to small non-profits.
- Still trying to figure out what I want to do for the rest of my life....AND when I'm not thinking too much I'm just enjoying life.
