Marianne's Story
Life
After I graduated from Clarenceville, I went to Siena Heights College and received a BS in Biology. I had trouble obtaining a job in my field, so I continued to work at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Detroit until I started working at a metalworking fluids company. I stayed in that field for about 5 years. I then decided to change careers and return to school and go into nursing. I started a job as a medical assistant at Michigan Colon and Rectal Surgeons, while attending Madonna College of Nursing. While in nursing school, I moved back home to conserve money. I then meet some friends at a conference and started going to church in Ann Arbor Michigan. I meet Peter my husband there. Were married in June 2005, shortly after I graduated from Madonna University. I moved to Ann Arbor with Peter who is a mechanical engineering graduate student at U of M. I am working part-time at the pediatricians office and take care of Cecilia. In June 2008, I quit my job as a nurse and became a stay at home mom. We lived in Ann Arbor until summer of 2015. My husband, Peter obtained a job as an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at University of Wisconsin, Madison. We moved to Madison, WI in August 2015. I do a lot of volunteer work. I help in the school with SCRIP and the library. I am the Treasurer of the St. Maria Goretti Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. I help the poor by going on home visit through the St. Vincent de Paul conference. I really love this work. I walk everyday with my friend Mary. I have braces at the age of 46. I have a lot of empathy with teenagers having braces. I am working on getting my RN license in Wisconsin. I hope to have my RN license in Wisconsin in December 2017.
