Left Susanville in the early '70's, raised my kids, had some fun, spent 12 years working on the rape and domestic violence crisis line we established in Mendocino County, then went to UC Berkeley at age 40 where there were even more exciting things to work on, met the man who would become my husband Michael and spent 20 years in the Bay Area working with homeless people, poverty issues, and anti-war work, and where I came to understand that everything I thought I knew about Israel and Palestine was wrong.

ticularly Palestine, (local) police accountability, Occupy, grandkids, quilting, gardening.... All but one grandkid have finished college, the last one just starting. Great kids, each one of them!
Have been working for many years for Palestinian self-determination,and spent time in Palestine and in Israel, seeing the reality, the inhumanity. Stunning, grueling trips - thought I understood how cruel the Israeli military occupation is, but it's so much worse than I had thought - and the racism both of the government and the Israeli settlers was soul-searing. Experiencing apartheid first hand is pretty tough.
