Marianne's Story
Life
biefly, after h.s. went to 2 years JC - still undecided major - so went to Court Reporting school - was told it was a job where I could work part-time and make good money. And it has been a good career for me.
It was a long haul - worked full time, went to nite school, mom & grandma died, got married - but I finally got licensed.
Was married too many years, now divorced with 2 great kids and 1 grandson (Raider - our horse - lol) as shown in photo. Was divorced in '97, same year my dad died, and was fortunate to be able to move into my old home - so I'm back on Clinton raising my 2 kids in Alameda. What a hoot. Alameda seems to be good for us. I sure enjoy it when I see "people from the past" - and all the other good aspects of "small town" type life.
I'm working hard, because I enjoy it (and the money). Want to have nice vacations & nice stuff...Expand for more
. My kids are now 20 & 16, daughter going to Cal Berkely, son at an awesome aeronautics charter school.
Hmmm...what else???
I play raquetball with a great group in Alameda. I was taking riding lessons for about 2 years - my joy, goal - and at times a point of major frustration - especially when I almost lost my hand after a severe shattering of the wrist. But I'm okay now. And that's life - they say "Anything you need to know about life, you can learn from a horse." And I have found that to be true in MANY aspects of my life.
Yeah, so life is good - I'd love to hear from some "forgotten" friends - and I know I need to make the effort to write too.
Was reading through some yearbooks awhile back - so many comments of being "sweet" - I laughed - people still say that too. Love the memories & love that are in those yearbooks.
Take care, Marianne
