Marie's Story
Life
I am married,34 years as of December 26, 2009, and have 3 children, Alan 31, Brian 28, Mary 26. Been living in Huntington Beach 31 years. Went back to work Aug. 1998 after 16 years at home. Was involved in school activities all those years; PTA, Bingo Board, Grad Nite Board, GBB Boosters. Mary was a Varsity starter, Basketball, (brag). Spent most of non-work time as stated above. Started a full-time job in April 2002 as Accts. Payable/Collection Clerk then found much better job in July 2005 as the Bookstore Accountant at Coastline Community College. I am now currently working in the new Technology Center at the college as a Staff Assistant to the Dean of the technology research department. Alan is currently a Boeing Employee managing the library services, Mary is an RN at Fountain Valley Hospital and Brian is still searching. Alan married Nicole October 10, 2009 and will bless me with my first grandchild in August 2010.

rk part-time in 1998. Waited a little too long to transition into a full time position. Did take a full time job that did not work out due to an unscrupulous manager. Worked for 2 years as an Accounting Assistant, a somewhat glorified title. Actually managed accounts payable, delinquent accounts and performed some customer service. Went looking for a better position after 2 years because I was bored out of my mind and the company I was employed with was deteriorating in many ways, particularly in morale. After a horrible 6 months in another job I finally hit the jackpot. I was hired by Coastline Community College in Fountain Valley as an Accounting Technician. I actually was the accountant in the bookstore which was challenging because the place was a mess. I got it organized and running smoothly and then transferred to a Staff Assistant position to the dean in the newly developed Technology Innovations Dept. which is ironic because I am the least computer savvy person around. The head of our Computer Services dept. still just shakes his head when he sees me. But I am learning and I do like the people I work with.
