Workplace After graduation I went to work at Aberdeen Proving Ground in typing pool, 3 years. Through Government Studies, and College courses I transferred into Engineering Tech field,EPA- Environmental Protection Agency where I traveled to other Army Installation plants within the United States testing for toxins, asbestos, air pollution. After 18 years with APG I felt like I needed a change so I moved to Florida and started work at Patrick Air Force Base with Computer Sciences Raytheon and NASA Space Industry. csr Company employer transfered me overseas to Ascension Island, UK, located 5,000 miles South of Florida in the South Atlantic Ocean where I worked and lived for several years. CSR has a satellite tracking station on the Island. There I tracked Satellites and Shuttle Launches for Cape Canaveral, in parternship with NORAD/NASA space program. After 4 years there on island, I went to work on Antigua, West Indies, in the caribbean, with CSR, same job,radar tracking station. In 2005 I returned to Ascension Island for CSR where I worked until August 2008 when I retired. my journey in life has taken me many places and I've enjoyed them all..Retirement is great.. Present Day Ascension Ascension has a population of about 1,250 both US citizens and St. Helena personnel that after graduation from school travel to ascension for jobs. Is a communications center (BBC and Cable and Wireless) in addition to the Royal Air Force (RAF) and USAF presence. A resident Administrator from the UK governs Ascension Island although in reality the island is run (and operating costs paid for) by its users.
