Marie's Story

I had my second book published this year (2015). The first was published in 2013 and was titled And There Was War in Heaven. It is a book about God's continuity and His sameness with all of humanity. The war results after the resurrection of Jesus when Satan realizes he is defeated and transfers the focus of his war from God to man, specifically to the followers of Jesus. My most recent book is titled From Faith to Faith, As We Live in the Spirit. It is about spiritual growth and focuses on the Holy Spirit. I would be honored to have you check them out. I am the mother of five beautiful daughters and live on the ranch that belongs to my middle daughter and her husband. It is a beautiful place in the mountains and an ideal place for a writer. I write every day and am currently working on a book of poetry that I hope to have out in 2016. I have always written, my first poem dates from the age of eight. In addition, I write editorial type paragraphs on subjects that interest me, some fiction and memories of places and people, but have my greatest satisfaction from writing of spirituality. My husband died of cancer in January of 2012 which gave me the time to write for publication. I have twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, I went to Abilene Christian University one and a half years and was unable to continue because of a serious heart condition. Since that time I have taken courses part time at The University of Colorado and Colorado College, both in connection to teaching a government program ...Expand for more
to second grade students in a disadvantaged school in Colorado Springs, Co. It was both interesting and challenging, but we moved to Casper Wy and another challenge was before me. My health was on an even keel and I began a nursing program after working as an aide for two years. It was a two year course, demanding of time spent in study as well as in long hours of practical experience. in the hospital. I loved it. I was unable to finish the second year because my husband received a promotion in his work and we moved back to Colorado Springs. Eventually, after fulfilling his goals over a period of several years, he left the company he was with and opened his own brokerage and hired me as his office manager. We retired in the late 1980's bought a brand spanking new 37' RV and saw some of the country. My heart came back to haunt me and I had the aortic valve replaced in 1999 at Scott White in Texas and a pacemaker inserted in 2004 in Ft. Worth. We came back to Colorado shortly after that and eventually I had two ablations in Albuquerque, the first which didn't work but the second one did and I am free of fibrillation for the first time in so many years I can't remember them all. This year, I resumed gardening with a vengeance, and when that was complete for the year, began working on poetry books for my girls. It will help me decide on the ones I intend to include for publication. I may even write another book as Tennessee E. Ford used to say "If the good Lord's willing and the creek don't rise."
