Mariah's Story
What I've been doing since 1974 is that I attended Penn State and graduated in '77 with a degree in Communications Journalism, then headed south to Florida where I worked in the capitol as a TV news reporter until 1979 when I headed to a larger market in the Northwest residing in Seattle (just prior to Bill Gates arrival) until I then relocated to Alaska in '83.
Finally in 1998, I started working in education (teaching English & as a Counselor at Homer High School, Ninilchik K-12, Seldovia K-12, and as a Principal most recently in Tuluksak K-12 and now in Point Hope K-12.

work as a counselor in Fairbanks and on the Kenai and worked as a freelance writer / film / radio producer, mostly with NPR and had worked on films like Salmonberries and White Fang in Alaska. I have lived in Alaska since 1983 and although my home is in Ninilchik on the Kenai, I have resided in almost every region of the state, my favorite being the upper Kobuk Valley in Ambler. Prior to that I worked in Seattle and Tallahassee in media (TV/Films).
