Mariko's Story
Life
I'm married-- almost 4 1/2 years now-- and living in Hawaii. I've acclimated to the islands and I doubt I'll ever be able to leave. I teach English (big surprise to my High School teachers, I'm sure) at Kahuku High, Honors classes and one AP class. This is my 4th year of teaching. #1 in the nation for supplying NFL players) and the focus on academics isn't what I'd like, but I've got pretty good students. Kids are definitely much worse than I remember though. Jake (a ceramics teacher at the local university) and I don't have kids just yet, but if all goes well, my due date is July 5th, 2006. Exciting, but scary too.
