Marilee's Story
I was in Lyric Club, Spinsters and Toastmistresses. After graduation I attended MSAC, worked at Sears in El Monte and married Bob Reyes (class of 54) in 1963. For a few years I took a bunch of writing classes and eventually went to work for the Temple City Times as a copy editor/feature writer. I worked my way up and when I left the paper after 20 years I was a staff writer for the San Gabriel Valley News Group (Pasadena Star News, San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Wh...Expand for more
ittier Daily News). When my mother got ill we moved to the San Gorgonio Pass (Banning/Beaumont) so I could care for her and when she died I went to work for The Press-Enterprise in the Hemet bureau, retiring in 2005. Bob was ill at the time and passed in July of 2005. After that, I moved to Eugene, OR., to be closer to my grandchildren. To keep busy I do some paper crafting, painting, collage and needlework. I would be glad to hear from anyone who remembers me.
