Marilyn's Story
I recently retired after an illustrious 45 year career (yes, 45 years in one place) from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. I enjoyed my job, but it was definitely time to close that chapter of my life and start out on a new adventure. People keep asking me what I am going to do in retirement and I tell them I have no plans......I thought that was what retirement is all about.
I am relatively new to the single life and live in Macomb Township, MI. I have one daughter who recently graduated from Wayne State University with her certification as a Vet Tech. She still has to sit for her boards and find a full time position, but is on to fulfilling her passion of working with animals.
As for me, since I am newly retired, I am enjoying each and every day as a new adventur...Expand for more
e. Not having to live by a schedule is probably what I am loving the most! Most of my close friends have also retired so I have a lot of folks to plan play dates with.
The winter of 2009/2010 will be the first winter I hope to spend some time in a warmer climate and will thank God every day that I no longer have to make a 33 mile commute downtown and can spend time by the water that I adore!
I have basically lost touch with all of my Denby friends and hope to reconnect through this website. I can probably be most remembered by the amount of time I spent after school at the Duchess Drive in with my friends. We sure did have some memorable days there. We also spent a lot of time in Skinner field right behind the school buildings.
