I am currently married, have 2 children; 1 girl, 1 boy (they're both grown), and live in Monroeville, PA, a suburb of Pittsburgh. I moved here from Dallas in October 1988.
After graduating from Spruce I got married and started a family. I lived in California for 2 years from 1973-74. I started attending Richland College in 1977, received an associates in Engineering Technology and worked for Texas Instruments for about 8 1/2 years before moving to Pittsburgh.
In 1999 I started my own technical training business, Conformance Technologies,Inc(conformtech(dot)com) which I am President/CEO. On the side, I sing and play guitar and violin. I performed with the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh for 5 years- the choir for the Pittsburgh Symphony. I was honored to be able to perform with the choir at Carnegie Hall in New York. I also played violin in community events with the Pittsburgh Symphony for the past 4 years. I sing for 2 local churches and sing and play violin for weddings and special events. I am currently singing with another choir, the Masterworks Concert Chorale, and play violin with the Westmoreland Symphony Community Adult Strings group. You can also find me at myspace(dot)com/marilynbelkenlawrence where you can here a sample of my music. I'm also on facebook under Marilyn Belken Lawrence.
In March '09, I got to sing jazz (I actually scatted) with Joe Negri and his band, aka Handyman Negri from Mr. Roger's Neighborhood.
I miss all my old friends from school and hope to catch up after all these years.
