Marilyn's Story
After graduating from Aurora Central in 1963, I attended Colorado College in Colo. Springs, graduating in 1967. I married an Air Force Academy grad, and we were subsequently stationed in Dayton, OH, and at Canadian Forces Base Comox on Vancouver Island, before we became civilians. Then we lived for 30 years in northern Indiana, raising a family of 6 kids. In 2002, after my husband had retired from business due to his diabetic condition, we returned to Colorado to take advantage of all the outdoor activities available here. ike and are traveling mainly by car. My husband has continued to use exercise as a means to control his diabetes, and in June 2009 is participating in "Ride the Rockies," a nearly 500 mile, 6 day ride over three of the major mountain passes of Colorado. We have grown kids all over the country (three in Colorado), five grandchildren, and three living parents (in Houston and South Bend, IN), so we spend a good bit of time traveling to visit them. We are so happy to be settled back here, and to be able to enjoy the healthy lifestyle here after living in the overcast and the humidity of the midwest for so many years!
